"I love being able to give back and serve my community. It runs in my family. I grew up in the fire service. My grandpa was the fire chief and I have had several cousins, uncles, and great uncles who have also been in the fire service. All together I’ve had eight family members who have been in the fire service and one who is a police officer.
I have one dog named Chester, a St. Bernard/Boxer mix. When we adopted Chester we weren’t planning on getting another dog but a friend of ours sent us his info. We fell in love with him right away. He was being re-homed from another household with a mama dog who had just had puppies. She wouldn’t let him eat or drink and kept fighting with him. We knew he had to come home with us.
I used to wear my fire pager in class during my senior year in high school and use that as an excuse to leave class when calls came in. I even once left class to go on a call for a fire alarm at my high school."
